You will find information about White River School District Early Childhood Services in the links below.
The purpose of the Child Find screening is to provide information on school-related development to parents of children aged 34 months to 5 years. Our goal is to identify children who may need special services (i.e., occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, specialized early childhood program) in order to experience success in school. This will help the school system plan services for children with special needs. While the screening will not show conclusively that your child has special needs, it will indicate whether he or she is recommended for further assessment. If you have a school age child, grades K-12, contact your child's teacher at your neighborhood school.
Some children will be recommended for additional individual assessment to determine if they qualify for special services through the school district. Following the screening, appointments for the recommended evaluation will be made with you. Your written permission for individual assessment is required. If a child is found to be eligible for services based on this testing, the district may recommend one of a range of services, from weekly therapy to a comprehensive early childhood program. You will also be involved in this assessment and decision throughout the process.
Child Find screenings for the 2016-17 school year will be held as follows:

The White River Developmental Preschool is an early childhood program blended with specialized approaches and related services as appropriate for children with special needs. Our developmental preschool serves children ages three to five. The purpose is to provide a developmentally appropriate environment for children to develop their language, social-emotional, cognitive/pre-academic, and motor skills necessary for future school success. This is done through play and teacher directed activities, which are strategically designed to facilitate the development in each area.
We are located at:
Mt. Meadow Elementary
11812 Mundy Loss Road East
