If you and your children who are students in our school district are experiencing any of the living situations above you may be eligible for assistance as defined by the McKinney-Vento Education Assistance Act.
To begin the eligibility process please submit the form found on the Procedures page, to your school counselor or building principal. You will then be contacted by our District Social Worker.
Initiating McKinney-Vento Eligibility
To initiate the eligibility process for McKinney Vento services, please submit the form found at the link on this page to your school counselor or building principal. Once you have submitted the required forms, you will be contacted by the White River District Social Worker to begin the eligibility process.
Dispute Resolution Procedures
If you disagree with a decision regarding McKinney-Vento services, you have the right to appeal our decision.
Level 1: To appeal a McKinney-Vento decision, please submit the form at the link on this page to the district's homeless liaison as indicated on the form.
Level 2: If unresolved at Level 1, the case may be appealed to the local school district superintendent.
Level 3: If the dispute continues to be unresolved, the final appeal is to the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction
