2022 Levy

White River School District Our Kids, Our Schools, Our Community February 2022 Levies: A partnership for the success of every student.
 
2022 Renewal of Educational Program & Operations and Capital Levies
On October 13, the School Board voted to run an Educational Program and Operations Levy (EP&O) and Capital levy in the February 8, 2022 election. The EP&O and the Capital Levy are renewals of previous voter-approved funding sources. They are not new taxes.

White River School District receives funding from state and federal sources but also relies on local, voter-approved levies to ensure our students, schools, and staff have what they need. The levies help bridge the gap between what the state funds and what we need to educate our students.

All levies approved by White River voters stay in our school district. We are asking just for what we need to continue and maintain the current level of services and programs for students.
 
The Educational Program & Operations (EP&O) Levy renewal funds:
 
  • Academic programs, including early learning and special education.
  • District-wide school staff, including nurses, safety officers, counselors, mental health professionals, and teaching, playground, and lunchroom assistants beyond what the state funds.
  • Student opportunities like arts, music, athletics, STEAM (science, technology engineering, arts & math) specialists, co-curricular clubs, and activities.
 
The Capital Replacement Levy renewal funds technology, facility improvements, and safety upgrades not funded by the state, including:
 
  • Technology for students and staff
  • Improving safety and security features at our campuses
  • Improving building systems for energy efficiency and safety
 
 
What’s the cost?
We are focused on lowering the current tax rate for our school district. Right now, the tax rate is $4.36 per $1,000 of assessed home value. 
 
In 2023 the total combined tax rate is estimated to be $4.07 per $1,000 of assessed home value.
Community Cafes

We will be holding Community Cafes at each school. We hope you can come visit with the Superintendent and District Office administrators to talk about the levy renewals, and Covid related challenges. If you are a parent/guardian, you do not need to attend the event that corresponds to where your child attends. These  are open to anyone in the community.
